A significant element of the Rare Bear Project is the donation of Rare Bears to our newly registered rare disease patients. The purpose of donating a Rare Bear to a patient is so that they will have a companion when having to go through treatment, are feeling down or ill, or being admitted to hospital.
 
Our patients are also able to identify other rare disease patients and their own community when in hospital and a fellow patient has their rare bear with them. It’s a beautiful reminder that our rare patients are not alone.
